Youth, Interrupted

Our new exhibition Youth, Interrupted highlights the importance of hearing directly from young people about their experience of mental illness. Curator Loretta Shepherd has worked closely with several young people whose works feature in the exhibition. Four of the artists, Romy Dwosh, Leah, Adam Knapper and Damian Michaels have also contributed essays for the Youth, Interrupted catalogue. Their stories, told in their own words, provide a powerful insight into their experiences, struggles and triumphs.

This exhibition will be accompanied by an exciting series of free public talks. Click here for details.

Relocation to the Parkville Neurosciences Facility

Construction of the new home of the Cunningham Dax Collection is well underway and the project is on schedule to be completed sooner than expected. It is anticipated that the building will be finished towards the end of 2011, allowing the Collection and co-located organisations, the Mental Health Research Institute and the Florey Neurosciences Institute to move in and become operational in early 2012.

New Staff

The Collection has recently welcomed three new staff members. Kim Selling has joined the Collection in the role of Manager of Transition. Her role will be to facilitate the relocation during this exciting and significant time. Anita Kopiec has taken on the position of Education Manager and we welcome Amy Middleton in the role of Personal Assistant and Administrative Officer.
