Aims of the Collection
In recent years the Collection has become more than just a specialised body of works for health professionals. Its audience has broadened to include secondary school students, tertiary students of art and the humanities, people who experience mental illness/trauma, and the general community.
The Collection has an on-site exhibition of over a hundred works at Parkville and has an active program of touring exhibitions. The Collection uses the creative works to explore a wide range of mental health issues and the interface between art and human psychological experiences. The Collection has an active lecture programs and conducts a series of workshops each year to assist secondary teachers in their teaching of mental health issues.

Collaborations & Partnerships
This unique Collection is emerging to be of interest to a wide range of disciplines. The Collection undertakes teaching and research collaboration with academic departments of museum studies, fine arts, humanities, health, law, ethics, and philosophy.
The Collection also collaborates with a wide range of community organisations in using these creative works to promote awareness of mental health issues.
